Welcome to our parish website and if you are new to the area, welcome to our parish. You may come from further afield and simply want to know something about St. Jude the Apostle Parish – I hope that your visit will transform distance into friendship.
Our parishioners come from all over Ireland and beyond. We are comprised of young and not so young, working and retired people and children growing up who share a common love of God and each other. Please browse our site and feel welcome to drop into our beautiful church at any time to say a prayer or light a candle or join our parish family for Mass.
You can also tune in and watch our ceremonies live through the magic of the internet, which when you think of it is really what a parish is all about. A group of individuals combining talents and knowledge for the greater good and as the Jesuits would say, the Glory of God.

• Family Mass Saturday 14th February St Jude the Apostle's at 5.30 p.m. We strongly encourage those preparing for the celebration of the Sacraments later this year to join us for our family masses as they form an important part of the children’s preparation for the Sacraments
• IMPORTANT NOTICE to all Parish Volunteers:In compliance with Diocesan requirements all volunteers who work in any aspect of Parish life must attend a Child Safeguarding Information Session once every three years. This is an essential part of being a volunteer and helps us to meet the requirements of the Annual Child Protection Audit. Just under half of our Parish Volunteers attended one of these sessions in February 2025 and I now encourage all others to attend on the next locally organised session as follows: Tuesday 3rd March in St Pius X Church, Bohernabreena Parish Centre – 19th February 2026, Rush, St Maur’s Church – 21st February 2026, Ballyfermot, Cherry Orchard - 25th February 2026, Sandyford - 4th March 2026, Dalkey Church - 11th March 2026, Booterstown Parish Centre - 19th March 2026, Ballinteer Church - 24th March 2026.

• Wednesday 11th February: World Day of the Sick Pope Leo XIV has chosen the theme “The compassion of the Samaritan: loving by bearing the pain of the other” for the 34th World Day of the Sick

  St Vincent de Paul Local Conference monthly collection at Masses this weekend 7th / 8th February
• Sacred Heart Messenger and Irish Catholic available in Parish Office

  If you would like to support this worthy charity, there is a Coins for Kids Charity collection Box in the Parish Office
• Clothing Appeal on behalf of Merchants Quay will take place next weekend 7/8th February, New clothes would be gratefully appreciated
• Holy Communion and Confirmation If your child is making their Holy Communion or Confirmation in the Parish, please bring their Baptism Certificate into Parish Office as soon as possible
• 
  Brother Jean Marie from Taize is coming to Dublin in March and there will be a Taize prayer service open to all in Christ Church on 23rd March

• Relationship Care / Accord Dublin: The annual collection for the Diocesan Agency for Marriage and the Family will take place next weekend 14th/15th February. It will replace the Share collection at Masses. Relationship Care throughout the Diocese continues to offer:
  Marriage Preparation courses – online, small groups.
  Counselling for couples and individuals experiencing difficulties in their relationships, currently online or by phone.
  A Relationship and Sexuality Programme for schools.
  Relationship Care needs your support this year more than ever and appreciate what you can give next weekend 14th & 15th February. Thank you
  
• Family Mass: We strongly encourage those preparing for the celebration of the Sacraments later this year to join us for our family masses as they form an important part of the children’s preparation for the Sacraments.
  You may like to note the dates of family Masses over the coming months as follows:
  Saturday 14th February - vigil Mass at 5.30pm in St Judes
  Saturday 14th March - vigil Mass at 7pm in St Pius X
  Saturday 11th April - vigil Mass at 5.30pm in St Judes

• The Parish Centre have rooms to rent for 2026:
  Room 1 is available on Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays 9am until 12pm.
  Parish Hall is available Thursday Morning 11.15am until 12.30pm, and

• TheWay.ie: Is a new digital platform set up by the Irish Bishops’ Conference dedicated to sharing the Good News and the witness of the Catholic Church in Ireland. It is intended to help people discover the faith, live the faith and pass on the faith. It is for both seekers and followers. You may access TheWay.ie by clicking here

  Invitation for New Members to sing with choir at the 10:00am mass. The choir practice on Thursdays 5pm to 6pm in the church or the pastoral centre. New members are welcome any time or if you can't get to the practice come at 09.30am on Sunday morning and join the singing practice

  Parents of 2nd class children are invited to enrol their children for the Sacrament of First Holy Communion by clicking here and completing the online enrolement and submitting same. You will also need to drop a copy of your child’s Baptism Cert into the parish office once you have completed the online enrolment. Certs are available from the church where your child was baptised. We would kindly ask parents to complete the enrolment by Friday 12th December 2025. This will enable the parish to keep parents informed about any developments in the preparation for the Sacraments
  
  Bishop Galvin National School Sacrament of Confirmation Wednesday 27th/Thursday 28th May '26

• Lectio Divina – In our parish centre Tuesday afternoons at 2:00pm Room 3. Why not come along everyone welcome. More information can be found here

  Thursdays in St. Jude the Apostle's: At 09:30 we pray the Luminous Mysteries of the Rosary, especially for our priests. We say a Vocation prayer for young men and women that they might hear and answer the call to Priesthood and Religious Life. The Eucharist is then available. See leaflet at back of church

  Sincere thanks to all who continue to support Koins for Kids due to your continued donations this parish has donated in excess of €11,374 plus lots of non euro coins and notes. No donation is too small so if you have any small change or foreign currency lying around drop them into parish office and we will pass on to Koins for Kids whose aim it is to raise 1 million euro to fund a paediatric MRI scanner for new Childrens hospital. So far amount raised has reached the milestone of €700,000. St Jude The Apostle's are the leading donor so keep up the good work and dig out all those old coins or small euro coins every little helps.

Parish Office Bookings for Anniversary Masses etc. Note that all anniversary and remembrance masses must be booked through the Parish Office (Cash Only), please give one Months notice. Mass Cards, Baptismal Candles, Rosary beads, First Holy Communion and Confirmation cards and gifts are now available in Parish Office. Easter Mass Bouquets are available (proceeds to charity).

Standing Orders – increasing amounts – Some of you have increased the amount you were donating or started new standing order but we are struggling to identify where some of the amounts are coming in from as you have not put your name in correct field. If you have increased or started a new standing order since January you might send me an email with the new amount and your name so we can allocate the correct amounts. Sincere thanks to all who continue to support the parish with your standing orders it is a great help to the upkeep of the parish and in claiming the tax back on your donations stjudesparishwillington@gmail.com

Request for copies of Baptism, Confirmation Certificates and Letters of Freedom from 1st June in order to comply with the new GDPR requlations we are required by law to ask the person for whom the certificate relates to to request copy themselves accompanied by photo id so the easiest way is to email request to stjudesparishwillington@gmail.com and attach photo id otherwise we will have to give them a request form for you to sign and bring it back with photo id if you are asking someone to pick up certificates they must have photo id of their own as well before we can hand out paperwork
